Capuchin Meeting Place
The practice the Capuchins have adopted for past WYD is to establish a venue where Friars and their groups coming from overseas can gather, e.g., Café Cappuccino in Cologne 2005. In Sydney we will use the Italian Forum Piazza, 23 Norton Street, Leichhardt, as a rallying point where Capuchins can meet. Capuchin pilgrims will be encouraged to attend the Capuchin Youth Festival - “A Multicultural Celebration of Faith” Wednesday, 16 July, 1.30pm to 5.00pm (13.30 - 17.00)
The Piazza is surrounded by cafes and restaurants where you can enjoy a genuine Italian coffee, a gelato, a snack, a drink or dine and relax for a while. The Forum is a friendly place with a great atmosphere, which promotes community and cultural events, highlighting in particular, but not exclusively, Italian culture. It is located in the heart of “Little Italy” where the Capuchin Parish is located.
